Tony is a phenomenal instructor worth learning from if you are serious about improving your golf game. His ability to tailor instruction to each individual’s unique swing and body kinetics is what makes him special. On top of that, Tony also has exceptional golf IQ capable of taking his one’s course management to the next level. For me, Tony has helped change my game in both the mental and physical aspects. I am forever grateful for Tony for providing me the tools to succeed at my passion.

Having completed 12 lessons, I must say how much Jack and I have appreciated Tony's awesome instruction. With his expertise, patience, and confidence building instruction we have become confident in our golfing. Our improvements have met our goals and have allowed us to have confidence and fun playing the game together. We will strongly recommend his instruction to everyone.

I’m a senior golfer that had developed quite a few bad habits over the years. I have taken lessons in the past and have even gone to golf schools. My experience with Tony at Smart Golf Academy has been fantastic. Tony reworked my swing and I am now playing better than ever. We have worked on all aspects of the game, and have even played a round of golf together. It was great having a chance to discuss how to approach specific shots and course management.

I highly recommend Tony for anyone, whether you are a beginner or experienced golfer.

I started playing golf around the age of 8 with my dad. Then I played in a junior league throughout middle school and junior high. During this time I took lessons from a few coaches they were wonderful and helped me improve. But just before my freshman year of high school, and after playing in a few summer tournaments, I wanted to get a new instructor because I am always looking to grow my knowledge of the game.

I have taken lessons for nearly three years now from Tony, and all I can say is I’m glad I asked my mom to find a new swing coach. Without him, I honestly don’t know where I’d be. Read more...

Tony is my third coach in my short time of playing. When I arrived at my first lesson, I had a handicap of about 20, but in just over 4 months I've dropped down to a 13.2, all thanks to Tony. Tony has an ability to work with my tendencies, as well as fully understand the feedback I give about what I'm feeling during swing changes and drills. He asks the right questions to see where my struggles are on the course and on the range, and his profound knowledge of the game is an invaluable resource for my golf IQ. His genuine care to see his students get better and figure things out is nothing short of phenomenal and I would encourage others to give Tony a chance to change their game for the absolute best.

As my kids grew, I found myself at sports venues most nights and weekends so my golf game took a back seat. After years of playing once or twice a year, and with both kids now in college, it was time to pull the clubs back out.

After a frustrating golf trip this spring followed by several frustrating trips to the range I knew I needed some help. I was very fortunate to find Tony McMullin.

Tony took the time to ask what I wanted to accomplish. He didn’t jump into a cookie cutter lesson. He listened and we focused on what was most important to me. Every lesson I have taken from him has been about me and they all start the same way, with Tony asking me what I wanted to work on today. Read more...

I’d like to share my gratitude and admiration for Tony. Tony has been responsible for all the improvements I’ve made in my game. Tony lives and breathes golf and his relentless pursuit of becoming the best instructor he can be is inspirational. He truly has the heart of a teacher and is driven by his obsession with making all of his students the best they can be. I think Tony’s most impressive skill is his ability to take all the technical knowledge he has regarding biometrics and it’s relationship to the golf swing and simplify it for his students. If you would like to learn to play golf or take your game to the next level, meeting with Tony would be my recommendation for your best first step.

Coming from a student, Tony is the best coach I’ve ever had. He helps me with every golf technique I need, as well as confidence and emotional support. I’ve been working with him for almost three years, and I can’t thank him enough for all the advice. I am a significantly better golfer with Tony as my coach; it’s just amazing of all the change that has occurred to my swing and just my playing in general. I’m very excited for Tony to help me throughout my golf game, from winning junior tournaments to playing college golf. I just can’t imagine what’s to come.

As a parent you hope to find a golf instructor that will not only mold and sharpen your child's golf skills, but also their character as well. From day one Tony's passion for the game of golf and his positive attitude have been contagious. His holistic approach of not only developing and understanding the physical part of the golf swing, but also raising his player's "golf IQ" is second to none. Tony gets the most out of his students by not only enhancing their golf skills but building confidence in themselves as well.

I wanted a coach that knows me and my tendencies, and can work with those.

One of the best things about taking lessons from Tony is that he builds upon your strengths rather than focusing on what you are doing wrong. He can give you as much technical advice as you want, but he is also a great sports psychologist, which keeps you loose and gives greater confidence when swinging the club.

So many weekend golfers are looking for a quick fix or the magic move, but Tony gives you actual drills and swing thoughts to work on when you practice and encourages you to practice on and off the golf course. If you put in the work, Tony will meet you halfway and move you forward.

With his extensive knowledge of the game, Tony helped me improve my golf game both physically and mentally. His supportive personality makes him very easy to work with and learn from. I began working with Tony as a sophomore in high school. In just one year, my 9-hole scoring average improved by 7 strokes. By my senior year I had an average score of 43. I credit his emphasis on mental toughness for helping me win a one hole playoff to individually qualify for the 2018 OHSAA Girls Division 1 State Championship, breaking many personal bests along the way. His instruction gave me everything I needed in order to continue competing at the collegiate level with Thomas More University. Tony continues to be my go-to resource for swing issues and all things golf related.

I’ve known Tony McMullin as an instructor, coach, mentor, and friend for most of my life- approximately 10 years. I would never have had the mentality, or the ability, to achieve my goals without the guidance from him.

I started playing golf at the age of seven and competitively at the age of 12. I am now 21 years old, and in my third year of college golf. I always had a dream of playing in college, and this desire is what drove me to seek out someone who would help me not only harness my ability, but my ever-demanding changing mental state. Tony was a perfect fit. Read more...

As a parent, you always hope to find a coach who connects with your child and not only boosts their golf skills, but their life skills as well. Tony is just that! He started working with my daughter at age twelve, when she began junior tournament golf. He made golf fun. He developed not only her swing and physical skills, but also the mental skills needed to play competitively. Tony has an amazing ability to present techniques and drills in a fun and understandable way that build confidence and knowledge of the game and golf swing. This was evident in my twelve-year-old daughter’s desire and excitement to attend early morning lessons in cold Ohio winters. This carried on throughout her very successful high school career and into college. Read more...
